1968년 로스앤젤레스에서 3명의 보컬리스트와 4인조의 세션으로 
결성된 Three Dog Night은 소울풀한 하모니로 70년대 초반 많은 
히트곡을 발표한 그룹이다.
이들은 Mama Told Me Not To Come , Black and White , Joy To The World 
등의 곡으로 사랑받아 오던 중 연주 멤버의 교체 등으로 혼란을 겪으며 76년 
주축 멤버인 Danny Hutton이 그룹을 떠나고 해체되었다
