영국 팝 밴드 '페이퍼 레이스'는 1969년에 노팅엄(Nottingham)을 근거지로 하여
드러머인 '필립 라이트(Philip Wright)'와 베이시스트 '클리프 피쉬(Cliff Fish)'가
주축이 되어 4인 체제로 결성된 밴드이다. 페이퍼 레이스라는 이름은 노팅엄에서
고품질의 종이를 생산하고 있던 공장의 이름인 레이스에서 착안을 하여
만들어진 것이었다.
페이퍼 레이스는 영국에서의 성공을 바탕으로
두번째 음반 'And Other Bits Of Material'을 1974년 6월에 발표하였고,
Chicago의 방탕한 밤 분위기를 묘사한 두번째 싱글 'The Night Chicago Died'
를 영국과 미국에서 동시에 발표하여 성공을 거두게 된다.
